About the Role
We are currently looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Coder to join our dynamic team at Palmerston North Hospital. In this permanent full-time role, you will be instrumental in accurately coding medical records using ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS classifications. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in clinical coding to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our health information management.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Accurately code clinical data using ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS classifications.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of coding processes and practices.

About the Location

About You
Qualifications:
- A HIMAA (Health Information Management Association of Australia) coding qualification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS coding.
- Previous experience in a clinical coding role within a large healthcare setting.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data security.
