About the Role
We are seeking a permanent, full-time Foreman / Second-in-Charge (2IC) to oversee and coordinate the efforts of our dynamic team. In this hands-on position, you will not only be responsible for supervising the crew but also actively participating in the work. Your practical and technical skills will be essential as you help manage, organize, and motivate the team.
You will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of tasks including paving, timber construction (such as decking and fencing), concrete work, brickwork, blockwork, irrigation system installation, playground equipment setup, and planting trees and shrubs. This role offers a great deal of variety and allows you to work outdoors, contributing to the creation of beautiful spaces.
We welcome candidates who may be builders with some landscaping experience or those who possess extensive experience in landscape construction. If you have a background in managing teams and are skilled at engaging, developing, and motivating staff, we encourage you to apply.
Requirements
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and attributes:
- A formal landscaping, carpentry, or civil qualification is preferred
- Previous experience on residential and commercial construction sites
- A full Class 1 driver's license is required; Class 2 and WTR endorsements would be an advantage
- A high level of physical fitness and reliability
- Ability to manage a site and supervise staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills
- A desire and ability to develop your leadership capabilities
