Located just a short drive from Martinborough and Featherston, our farm spans 330 effective hectares and milks 780 cows twice daily through a 70-bail rotary system. About the Role
We are currently seeking a Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be involved in various essential farm tasks, including milking, calving, feeding stock, effluent management, spraying, and fencing. Your contributions will be vital to our daily operations, as you work closely with your colleagues to achieve our production and animal welfare goals.
We prioritize your development and will provide full training and support. We encourage you to take initiative, enhance your skills, and mentor newer team members. This hands-on position is perfect for individuals with a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for farming. Please note that this is a fixed-term role that will last until the end of January 2026.
About You
We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn, contribute, and help the team succeed. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in a similar dairy farming role or a strong interest in developing one
- Good communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to animal welfare and health and safety
- A current New Zealand restricted or full driver’s license
- Experience operating farm machinery or tractors is preferred
