About the Role We are currently seeking multiple Casual Kitchen Assistants to join our team at our Mount Maunganui site. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality catering services to our customers at schools and client sites. This position requires a proactive approach to safety and the effective use of all safety equipment and procedures provided by Compass Group. The hours for this role will be on an "as and when required" basis, aligned with business needs during educational terms. Regular working hours will be scheduled according to the roster during term time, with the potential for additional hours during term breaks. Our operations run five days a week, and we need team members who are available to work a rotating roster from Monday to Friday. Availability for immediate start would be advantageous. Your Responsibilities - Receive delivered meals, ensuring temperature monitoring, packing goods into chillers, and performing stock rotation. - Store and prepare goods for reheating and dispatch, including thawing and preparing oven cassettes for hot meals. - Reheat hot meals as needed. - Conduct safety observations, along with temperature monitoring and recording. - Pack hot and cold meals into Cambro boxes for dispatch, including loading temperature recordings into Cambro tests and sorting Cambro boxes. - Clean ovens, oven trays, and premises. - Maintain clean and tidy dining and kitchen areas, including washing and mopping. - Assist in preparing and presenting food. - Manage waste streams at the site. - Conduct thorough investigations into any food poisoning allegations or related incidents. About You Our ideal candidate will: - Be a team player, yet capable of working autonomously. - Hold a clean Police Criminal Background check. - Have prior experience in a similar role. - Demonstrate flexibility in both approach and attitude. - Possess good communication skills and a strong work ethic. - Be physically fit and reliable.
