About the Role
We are currently seeking applications for various positions, including permanent, fixed-term, part-time, and full-time roles within our general x-ray team, located at the Christchurch Health Campus. Candidates should indicate their preferences in their cover letters. Our team operates between Christchurch and Burwood Hospitals, providing a comprehensive 24/7 x-ray service that encompasses emergency department imaging, outpatient services, fluoroscopy, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) imaging, and theater imaging.
All roles will involve working day, evening, night, and weekend shifts. We offer a vibrant team environment, state-of-the-art facilities, and an exceptional work-life balance. With over 100 staff members and 21 rooms across three main sites, we pride ourselves on maintaining a close-knit, friendly atmosphere.
Our innovative rostering policies and a 44-week roster pattern allow you to organize your work around your life, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals balancing family commitments or an active social calendar. Our roster is fully compliant with MECA regulations, featuring one weekend in four and a maximum of seven consecutive working days.
Our modern facility overlooks the picturesque Avon River and the lush greenery of Hagley Park. While we enjoy a light-hearted work environment, we take our commitment to patient care seriously, striving to deliver a high-quality general x-ray service to our diverse community, from Ashburton to Kaikoura and the Chatham Islands.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering quality, patient-centered radiographic services that are both efficient and effective
- Documenting procedures accurately and effectively
- Supporting and facilitating quality improvement programs
- Supervising and providing clinical training for Medical Imaging students, as appropriate
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Solid experience in general imaging, preferably in a larger center, although this is not essential
- A genuine passion for radiography, demonstrated through teaching Ara students during their clinical placements
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork
- A dedication to patient care and producing high-quality imaging across various service areas, including emergency department, inpatients, outpatients, fluoroscopy, and theater
- Experience working with patients from diverse backgrounds
- Registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB) and a valid practicing certificate
Candidates must be willing to participate in a 24/7 rostered service, including on-call duties.
