About the Company We are a vibrant Bakery located in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, dedicated to providing our community with high-quality baked goods. Our team is passionate about what we do, and we are currently looking to expand our hardworking crew with the addition of two or more experienced bakers. About the Role As a Baker with our team, you will play a crucial role in the production of our diverse range of baked goods. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all equipment and machinery are clean and ready for production, checking the quality of raw materials, and accurately weighing and measuring ingredients. You will be involved in making dough and fillings, preparing pastry, and baking a variety of products to perfection. Additionally, you will add finishing touches such as icing, glazes, and cream. Maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards is essential in this role, as is monitoring ingredient quantities and freshness. Some cleaning and maintenance of machinery will also be part of your daily tasks. Requirements To be considered for this position, you should possess a relevant Level 4 qualification or have at least three years of experience in a commercial bakery, café, restaurant, hotel, or a similar establishment. We value reliability, hard work, and physical fitness, as the role requires prolonged standing and lifting of ingredients. A willingness to start work early in the morning and the ability to adhere to health and food safety regulations are also important. Hours of Work This position offers a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, with the possibility of up to 40 hours. Shift hours will range from 2 am to 11 am, Monday through Sunday, with occasional work required on public holidays. Any additional hours worked will be compensated at the standard hourly rate. Candidates must be able to pass drug testing and have a clean criminal record. It is necessary to have New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa to apply. Benefits The hourly rate for this position will depend on your skill level and experience, ranging from $25 to $35 per hour.
