About the Role As a Seafood Assistant, you will play a vital role in our seafood department. Your passion for seafood and commitment to customer service will help our customers make informed choices about their seafood selections. You will be responsible for maintaining the freshness and visual appeal of our seafood displays, ensuring they are well-stocked and meet our high standards. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include: - Assisting customers with their seafood selections, providing expert advice and recommendations. - Ensuring the seafood display is fresh, visually appealing, and well-stocked. - Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the seafood department. - Handling seafood products with care, including filleting, scaling, and packaging. - Monitoring inventory levels and assisting with ordering supplies. - Collaborating with team members to deliver excellent customer service. Requirements To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who meet the following requirements: - Previous experience in a seafood or grocery environment is preferred. - Strong knowledge of various types of seafood and cooking methods. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively. - Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. - A genuine love for working with fish.
