About the Role We are currently seeking a confident and hands-on Pest Control Technician to join our high-performing team in Nelson. If you are an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys problem-solving and delivering exceptional customer service, this role is for you. In this full-time position, you will work Monday to Friday with rotating weekend shifts and flexible start times. You will manage a diverse client portfolio throughout Nelson and make regular trips to Motueka, ensuring a dynamic work environment. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for: - Preparing your vehicle daily by efficiently loading, unloading, and maintaining all necessary equipment. - Conducting detailed inspections at commercial and residential sites to identify pest activity and plan appropriate treatments. - Applying effective pest solutions and providing customers with practical advice on prevention and long-term protection. - Identifying hygiene and environmental risks to help create safer and healthier workplaces and homes for our clients. - Completing accurate digital service reports after every visit, ensuring thorough documentation and tailored recommendations. - Delivering exceptional customer service with a friendly and professional demeanor at every job. - Being attentive to customer needs and identifying opportunities to offer additional services that genuinely add value. Requirements To be successful in this role, candidates should possess: - A full New Zealand driver’s licence with a clean driving record. - A clean criminal record. - Residency in Nelson, New Zealand. - A genuine love for the outdoors and local environments. - Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain and grow client relationships. - A safety-first mindset and the ability to adhere to evolving health and safety procedures. - Confidence using an Android mobile phone and related applications. - The ability to work independently while fostering a “one team” mindset. - Willingness to travel long distances from Nelson and stay overnight when required. - Physical strength and comfort working outdoors in varying environmental conditions. Desirable Skills and Experience While not mandatory, the following skills and experience are advantageous: - Previous knowledge of pest control methods and regulations. - New Zealand Certificate in Pest Operations (Level 3) in Urban Pest Control. - Working at Heights and EWP licenses and experience. - Current NZ Firearm License. - Ability to drive a manual vehicle.
