About the Role We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Department at Dunedin Hospital on a fixed-term, full-time basis until October 2026. This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of a friendly and supportive team. Our Pharmacy service provides comprehensive clinical and operational support to Dunedin Hospital, offering a wide range of clinical services that encompass both generalist and specialist skills. This is an ideal environment for someone looking to advance their career while being encouraged to explore various aspects of pharmacy work. Key responsibilities of the role include: - Stock control - Ward supply - Inpatient and outpatient dispensing - Non-sterile compounding - Assisting in the daily operations of the dispensary About You While hospital experience is preferred, it is not essential. We are looking for someone with strong time management, planning, and organizational skills. Excellent communication abilities and a positive team-oriented attitude are crucial for success in this role. You should be able to quickly learn new tasks, perform them with accuracy, and thrive in a dynamic and diverse environment. To be successful in this position, you will need: - A recognized Pharmacy Technician qualification from New Zealand - Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals - Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills - Adaptability and a solution-focused mindset - High levels of personal and professional integrity - Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to pursue learning in these areas - Experience in projects or initiatives that align with Te Tiriti principles, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches in healthcare settings Benefits Working with Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora offers the chance to be part of a dedicated team making a difference in the lives of New Zealanders. Salary Range The salary for this Pharmacy Technician role is governed by the APEX Pharmacy Collective Agreement, with a salary range between Step 3 ($72,074) and Step 7 ($86,719) per annum, pro-rata, excluding KiwiSaver.
