About the Role
We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Maintenance Fitter to join our processing site located on Ferry Road, Manawatu. This position involves working twilight shifts from 12 PM to 9:30 PM, five days a week. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to work outside these hours during maintenance shutdowns or when the plant operates on weekends or requires overtime.
In this fast-paced environment, you will encounter a variety of tasks that will keep you engaged and busy. The successful candidate will need to exhibit strong organizational skills and a genuine enthusiasm for working in a processing setting. The hourly rate for this role ranges from $32.00 to $38.00, depending on experience.
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our production processes run smoothly and comply with industry standards and regulations. Your responsibilities will include welding, dismantling and rebuilding parts, as well as fitting and assembling components on our processing lines. This role offers an ideal mix of installation, inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance, enabling you to address minor issues before they escalate into major problems and unscheduled outages.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- A mechanical or maintenance/diagnostics trade qualification, or progress towards obtaining one
- The ability to think logically and maintain composure under pressure
- A working knowledge of manufacturing operations
- Experience in maintenance diagnostics, fault-finding, and repair of industrial equipment
- Familiarity with reliability-based maintenance practices
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of monitoring and auditing for compliance
- A solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements in a processing environment
