About the Role We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Barista to join our team at Fly Thru Café, located at Christchurch Airport. In this part-time, permanent position, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee, delivering outstanding customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming café environment. Your Responsibilities In this role, you will: - Prepare and serve high-quality espresso coffee, including grinding, extracting, and texturing milk. - Operate the coffee bar, managing stocktaking, ordering, and daily reconciliation. - Provide warm and professional customer service, promptly responding to guest needs. - Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards of the coffee bar, equipment, and public areas. - Adhere to Compass Group's food safety, health, and safety procedures at all times. About You The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: - A team player who can also work independently, demonstrating a proactive and can-do attitude. - Previous experience in a similar barista or café role, preferably in a high-volume setting. - Strong communication and time management skills, with a customer-first mindset. - Physically fit, reliable, and committed to high hygiene and presentation standards. - Ideally holds a LCQ or DM Certificate or is willing to obtain one. - Holds or is willing to obtain a Police Clearance, NZQA Level 2 or 3 Barista Certificate, and NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Unit 167).
