About the Role
We are looking for a skilled professional to join our team in Hamilton Central, Waiora CBD Building. This role is a fixed-term position, offering 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, until November 2026.
In this exciting position, you will play a key role in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation of new functional test scripts, regression scripts, and testing scenarios to ensure optimal system performance according to specifications.
You will be tasked with deploying effective test suites and enhancing operational systems in a timely manner. Additionally, you will communicate and resolve any systems or software application issues through meticulous testing to maximize the benefits of our HRIS investments and initiatives. This role provides an excellent opportunity to showcase your analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as your attention to detail and accuracy.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following essential skills:
- 3-5 years of full payroll experience in a large organization with over 1,000 employees, particularly in environments with multiple collective agreements covering 24-hour rotating shifts.
- Experience with the PeopleSoft system, specifically in payroll.
- Proven skills in processes and systems testing and troubleshooting.
- Strong administrative capabilities to log and track system issues and enhancements.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining friendly and supportive interactions with colleagues.
- A sound understanding of current legislation related to payroll.
- The ability to interpret and apply collective and individual agreements concerning payroll entitlements.
- High-level proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft products such as Excel and Word.
- The ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships within the team and across the wider business.
Desired Skills
Additional skills that would be beneficial include:
- Experience with PeopleSoft and OneStaff.
- Comprehensive testing experience.
