About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Burwood campus as a Clinical Team Leader. In this permanent full-time position, you will work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
As part of a dedicated Occupational Therapy team of over 60 professionals, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic patient care, primarily within the inpatient Older Persons rehabilitation setting. You will play a crucial role in leading and enhancing our clinical services alongside fellow Clinical Team Leaders and the Clinical Manager. This position involves contributing to daily operational planning and supporting service improvement initiatives while maintaining a clinical caseload of older patients requiring rehabilitation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services within our Older Persons rehabilitation area, addressing a range of diagnoses and conditions to facilitate safe discharge.
- Collaborating with the leadership team and multidisciplinary colleagues to identify and implement service improvements.
- Maintaining a designated clinical caseload within the Older Persons inpatient services.
- Supporting the development of approximately 8-10 direct report Occupational Therapy team members.
- Engaging in continuous professional development in team leadership.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A solid clinical background in a rehabilitation hospital setting, with a minimum of five years of post-qualification experience preferred.
- Understanding of the core business needs related to Occupational Therapy service provision.
- Previous experience in team leadership and/or project management is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of local, national, and international health systems.
- Demonstrated experience in training and supervising staff, with the ability to support individual and collective team development.
- Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to starting your learning journey.
- Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of NZ and a current APC (or eligibility to obtain).
