About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and inspiring Head Teacher to lead our 2-5's Room. In this pivotal role, you will utilize your leadership and curriculum expertise to develop engaging learning experiences that bring our local curriculum to life. You will embrace the concept of the environment as the third teacher, creating thoughtful curriculum plans and supporting your team with effective communication and a nurturing teaching style.
Our 'Meadow' encompasses a vegetable garden, mud pit, fruit trees, compost area, worm farm, and a fire pit for winter activities. Here, children engage in various outdoor learning experiences, from making mud pies to foraging for bugs. We emphasize teaching our children the importance of caring for the earth and deepening their connection to Papatūānuku, our Māori earth mother.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Proven experience as a Head Teacher in an early childhood education (ECE) setting
- A Bachelor of Education or Diploma in Teaching (Level 7, ECE) along with full Teacher Certification
- In-depth knowledge of Te Whāriki and program planning
- A strong understanding of ECE regulations and compliance
- Confidence in pedagogical leadership and mentoring others
- Excellent communication skills, characterized by warmth, clarity, and positivity
