About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Centre Manager to oversee our close-knit early childhood centre. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, ensuring a nurturing and high-quality learning environment for our tamariki. You will foster strong relationships with whānau, staff, and the wider community while leading a dedicated teaching team.
Your leadership will be vital in supporting professional growth, maintaining compliance with early childhood education regulations, and adhering to curriculum standards. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative, community-focused setting.
At BestStart Mt Eden, we offer great potential for developing sustainable practices, including expansive market gardens within our beautiful outdoor space. With Eden Park located nearby, our centre enjoys a strong community connection, providing endless opportunities for fun and learning adventures for both children and teachers.
This is a permanent, full-time position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Requirements
We are seeking an individual who is dedicated to excellence in early learning and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners. To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:
- A Bachelor of Education or Diploma in Teaching Level 7 (Early Childhood Education or Primary) alongside current Teacher Certification
- Strong knowledge of child-led curriculum, pedagogy, and curriculum planning
- A solid understanding of current early childhood education regulations, with a high regard for compliance
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, reflected in your pedagogical practice
- Proven coaching and leadership skills, with the ability to unlock the potential of others
- An innovative mindset, with a preference for finding smarter, simpler ways of accomplishing tasks
