About the Role
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Controller to oversee our branch workshop and ensure that all equipment meets our high-quality standards for safety and reliability. In this role, you will provide exceptional service to our customers by maintaining and repairing small motor-powered equipment. You will also support other branches in the network by facilitating the utilization and repair of hire equipment as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform operational repairs and servicing maintenance, ensuring all documentation aligns with our "Ready for Hire" quality standards.
- Oversee the efficient operation of the branch workshop, including equipment maintenance, parts ordering, and coordination of the Preventative Maintenance Program (PMP) services.
- Allocate tasks to service personnel and drivers within the branch.
- Provide support to other branches in the area with the utilization and repair of hire equipment, which may involve working at different locations.
- Conduct cleaning and maintenance of branch facilities as required.
- Complete all reasonable tasks requested by the Branch Manager, Assistant Manager, Duty Manager, or Area Manager.
- Handle pickup, delivery, and loading/unloading of equipment.
- Be available to work 40 hours per week, with some weekend shifts on a rotating roster.
About You
The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong track record in equipment maintenance and servicing. You should be adaptable to changing priorities and work conditions, able to function both as part of a team and independently to complete tasks within deadlines. Time management skills, including the ability to plan ahead and reschedule as priorities shift, are essential.

Salary Breakdown
The base salary for this position is $68,500. Additional financial benefits may include an average profit share of $4,000, a weekend allowance of $2,340, and contributions to KiwiSaver (with opt-in options). Profit share bonuses are variable and paid biannually based on branch and company performance, as well as quality standards achieved. The weekend allowance is contingent upon the number of weekend days worked, with $90 paid for each weekend day worked.
