About the Role
We are looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Haematology team at LabPlus. This position is for 0.8 FTE, consisting of four post-midnight shifts each week (from 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM). In this role, you will work alongside another staff member in the Haematology department, making it an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional. While we prefer candidates with experience, we are open to considering newly registered Medical Laboratory Scientists as well.
This role offers the chance to work within New Zealand's largest and most highly specialized hospital-based laboratory service.
About the Service
LabPLUS is an IANZ accredited medical laboratory and ranks among New Zealand's premier laboratories. As part of the Auckland District Health Board, we provide a comprehensive pathology service for Auckland City Hospital, Starship Children's Hospital, National Women's Health, and the Greenlane Clinical Centre. Additionally, LabPLUS serves as a major referral laboratory for specialized tests across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. For more information, please visit our website at www.labplus.co.nz.
Our Haematology Department offers laboratory tests essential for diagnosing and treating blood cell and coagulation disorders. Our dedicated scientific and technical staff collaborate closely with haematologists to deliver high-quality services, including pediatric, neonatal, and adult care, along with in-depth clinical interpretation. Our Core Haematology section is robust, with specialized testing conducted in Special Haematology, Coagulation, and Cell Markers.
About You
We prefer candidates with experience in a diagnostic Haematology laboratory service and require either provisional or full registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand. Additional information can be found at www.mscouncil.org.nz.
