About the Role We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Butchery Manager to lead our small yet busy in-store butchery department. In this full-time position, you will oversee a team of three, including one apprentice, ensuring the effective operation of the department. What You'll Do In your role as Butchery Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations within a bustling butchery environment. You will lead, mentor, and support your team to achieve excellent results while ensuring that food safety and hygiene remain a top priority, in addition to adhering to health and safety standards. Other key responsibilities include managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and controlling waste. You will maintain high standards of product presentation and customer service, ensuring consistent quality across all products and processes. Additionally, you will work towards achieving sales, wage, and gross profit targets through effective planning and execution. What You'll Bring To be successful in this role, a Trade Certificate in Butchery is essential. We are looking for candidates with proven butchery experience and strong cutting and preparation skills. Leadership or supervisory experience is preferred, along with a commitment to team development and training. Strong organizational and communication skills are crucial, as well as solid computer skills for managing orders, reporting, and monitoring department performance. Candidates should be physically fit and capable of handling the demands of a busy butchery. Flexibility to work additional hours, including weekends or public holidays, is also important. A high level of commitment to your role, your team, and delivering outstanding results, along with a customer-focused approach and keen attention to detail, will set you apart.
