About the Role
In the position of Unit Charge Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT), you will lead a skilled team in providing safe and high-quality imaging services across various clinical areas. Your responsibilities will include overseeing staff training, maintaining imaging protocols, and collaborating closely with teams including Radiologists, Clinics (such as Plastics, Respiratory, Orthopaedics, etc.), Wards, and General Practitioners.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring effective service delivery by guiding imaging staff, managing workflow, and ensuring that all procedures are clinically appropriate, timely, and technically excellent. Your leadership will help maintain high standards within the imaging team, support collaborative care, and contribute to improved patient outcomes.
About the Team/Service
Our Medical Imaging team, comprising nearly 50 MITs, provides diagnostic imaging services across a wide range of specialties. We are a collaborative, multidisciplinary service dedicated to clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and the ongoing development of our staff.
About You
As a Unit Charge MIT, you will possess a blend of technical expertise and leadership experience. Your passion for safe imaging practices and team development will be evident. The ideal candidate will have:
- Registration with the relevant professional body and a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Demonstrated experience in diagnostic radiography, including fluoroscopy and outpatient imaging
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical imaging setting
- Strong ability to train, mentor, and support MITs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across clinical disciplines
