About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Department team at Palmerston North Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time position, and we welcome various full-time equivalent (FTE) arrangements. As a Matanga Tapuhi, you will play a crucial role in delivering advanced clinical care, leading service development, and fostering equitable health outcomes within our diverse community.

What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
- Provide advanced emergency care to both adults and children.
- Make complex clinical decisions and diagnoses.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective patient care.
- Mentor and support nursing staff, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and conduct clinical audits.
- Promote health literacy and ensure culturally responsive care.
- Uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of your practice.
What You Bring
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
- Proven experience in emergency or acute care settings.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and clinical governance skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and to achieving equity in healthcare.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
