We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team and help us maintain our high standards. About the Role As the Restaurant Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant. Your responsibilities will include menu planning, coordinating both front-of-house and back-of-house activities, and ensuring that our service meets the expectations of our guests. You will also be responsible for managing staff, maintaining inventory records, and implementing cost-control measures. Your expertise in Thai food ingredients is essential as we prioritize food safety and cater to various dietary needs. Key responsibilities include: - Planning menus in consultation with chefs - Organizing special functions and events - Coordinating daily restaurant operations - Managing purchasing and pricing of goods in line with the budget - Maintaining accurate records of stock levels and financial transactions - Controlling operational costs and identifying waste reduction strategies - Estimating future needs for inventory and supplies - Regularly reviewing product quality and researching new suppliers - Ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining a clean and functional dining environment - Delivering superior customer service and addressing any complaints promptly - Selecting, training, and supervising waiting and kitchen staff - Organizing and overseeing shifts for team members - Promoting the restaurant within the local community - Implementing policies and protocols for ongoing operations - Assisting with reservations, greeting guests, and taking orders as needed Requirements To be considered for this position, you should possess: - A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, such as a Food and Beverage Manager - A related New Zealand Register Diploma Level 5 qualification, or a comparable overseas qualification - Knowledge of Thai food ingredients, with a commitment to food safety and allergy awareness - Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team Benefits This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive wage ranging from $27 to $32 per hour, based on your experience and skills. Payment is made weekly. You will also receive holiday pay and sick leave in accordance with New Zealand law. The position is based at our location at 109 High Street, Motueka, with a work schedule of 30 to a maximum of 48 hours per week, spread over 5 to 6 days.
