About the Role We are currently seeking experienced Heavy Transport Drivers (Class 2, 4, and 5) based in Christchurch. This position requires a clean New Zealand driver license and involves working from Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime as needed. In this role, you will be responsible for the collection and delivery of DHL freight within standard time frames. You must ensure the security and integrity of all shipments while they are in your care. Recording shipment process activities, either electronically or manually, is also part of your duties. You will reconcile non-delivered shipments and prioritize them for the next cycle, ensuring accurate and complete paperwork for all shipment movements. Daily vehicle checks will be necessary, along with reporting any deficiencies to the Fleet Manager. Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and presentation is essential, as is the proper use and maintenance of your allocated vehicle. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications: - A current, clean, full Class 2, 4, or 5 heavy transport driver license. - A forklift license and Dangerous Goods handling certification. - A minimum of five years of driving experience, along with five years in the transport industry. - Strong planning and organizing skills with effective time management abilities. - Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, along with active listening skills. - The ability to make sound decisions under pressure while maintaining professionalism. - A customer-focused attitude, teamwork capabilities, and a willingness to assist with ad hoc duties. - A commitment to health and safety compliance, reliability, and accountability.
