About the Role
We are currently seeking an energetic and motivated Team Leader for our residential houses located in Nelson. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team in empowering individuals to live as independently as possible. Your focus will be on supporting people in planning and achieving their goals, ensuring that each individual is at the heart of our efforts and enjoys a rich and fulfilling life.
The position will require you to work a mix of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts throughout the week. Flexibility in your schedule to support your team across various shifts is essential.
What does the role involve?
As a Team Leader, you will assist individuals with disabilities in achieving greater independence while also leading and inspiring your team. Your daily responsibilities may include:
- Engaging in activities that are meaningful and purposeful for the residents, both at home and in the community, with an emphasis on maximizing independence and involving family.
- Performing household duties such as meal preparation, daily care routines, and personal care.
- Collaborating with your team to implement personal support plans consistently, fostering effective teamwork and communication.
- Providing a warm and nurturing living environment that encourages feedback and inclusivity, supporting each person in their personal goals.

What are we looking for?
We seek individuals who meet the following criteria:
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in Health and Wellbeing is required.
- A genuine passion for helping others, coupled with kindness and understanding.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly with disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- A full New Zealand driver’s license is essential.
- Initiative to motivate individuals toward their goals, along with a dynamic and creative approach.
- Respect for different perspectives and lifestyles.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts on a roster, including weekends.
- A warm, calm, and friendly personality, with a commitment to supporting individuals in achieving positive outcomes.
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are critical, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
