We are currently seeking skilled Site Traffic Management Supervisors (STMS) to join our team in Tauranga, specifically those with current Category A/B Practising warrants.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of traffic at work sites along Category A and B roads. As an STMS A/B, your primary focus will be ensuring the safety of your crew, the public, and all road users around our construction and maintenance sites.
Key Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Accurately interpreting and implementing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) on-site.
- Supervising and providing clear direction to your traffic management crew (TMOs/TCs).
- Setting up, maintaining, and removing temporary traffic management layouts in accordance with approved TMPs and the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management (CoPTTM) standards.
- Conducting site-specific risk assessments and toolbox meetings.
- Liaising with site personnel, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitoring traffic behavior and site conditions to maintain safety.
- Ensuring all traffic management equipment is utilized correctly and maintained.
- Completing all required site documentation, including site records and incident reports.
- Responding effectively to incidents or changes in site conditions.
- Championing a strong health and safety culture on-site.
Requirements
To be a successful candidate, you will need:
- A current and valid STMS Category A/B Practising warrant.
- Proven experience as an STMS on Category A and B roads.
- Strong knowledge of the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively brief and manage a team.
- Sound decision-making skills, particularly under pressure.
- The ability to accurately interpret plans and diagrams.
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices.
- A valid New Zealand Driver's Licence (Class 1 minimum; Class 2 or higher is often beneficial).
- A willingness to work varied hours, which may include nights and weekends depending on project requirements.
- Physical fitness for manual handling and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
