About the Company Tradestaff Global is a leading provider of workforce solutions, specializing in connecting skilled tradespeople with exciting opportunities around the world. As we look to the future, we are currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified and licensed plumbers for a unique opportunity at McMurdo Station in Antarctica during the Summer of 2025/26. About the Role We are looking for experienced commercial plumbers to join our team for a deployment that is expected to run from approximately October 2025 to March 2026. This role requires a strong work ethic and a willingness to embrace the challenges of working in one of the most remote and breathtaking locations on Earth. In this position, you will be involved in a large commercial construction building project, performing a range of plumbing tasks, including basic plumbing and repetitive work. A current New Zealand Plumbing Licence is essential for this role. Requirements To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria: - Only New Zealand and US citizens with New Zealand or US passports, currently living and working in New Zealand, are eligible to apply. - You must be willing to receive vaccinations for Flu, Tdap, and MMR. - Candidates should be aware that this is not a fly-in fly-out position; you will be residing at the station for an extended period. - You will work six days a week, with long hours expected. - Start dates are approximate and contingent upon passing medical and dental checks, obtaining security clearance, completing any required notice periods, and ice flight availability. - A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is mandatory. - A Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and a clean criminal record are required. - The application process is lengthy, and candidates should be prepared for a thorough selection process that may require travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams. We will cover testing and flight costs for those traveling from outside the Bay of Plenty. Benefits We offer an attractive compensation package, including: - Flights provided from any major New Zealand airport. - Food and shared accommodation during your stay. - Travel insurance coverage. - A competitive hourly wage of $66.11, paid on a contract basis, with payments made fortnightly in NZD for 54 hours of work each week. - All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) supplied. This opportunity not only offers a chance to work in an extraordinary environment but also allows you to save money while gaining invaluable experience and forming lasting connections with fellow workers. What Now? If you are interested in pursuing this remarkable opportunity, we encourage you to apply online with an updated CV that highlights your commercial construction skills and experience. Should your application be successful, we will reach out to provide further information regarding the interview and vetting process. Proficiency with technology, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex paperwork are essential for this role. Adventure awaits, and we are excited to hear from you. Please note that we can only accept applications submitted online, and you will receive an automatic acknowledgment once your application is successfully submitted.
