About the Role
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist to join our Central Otago team. This position is based in our clinic in Alexandra, and you may also be required to work at other locations across Central Otago, including Cromwell, Wanaka, Wakatipu, Ranfurly, and Roxburgh. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the oral health of children in our region. You will educate children and their families about oral health and the prevention of dental diseases. Additionally, you will recognize, diagnose, and treat oral abnormalities and diseases within your scope of practice.
You will work closely with a Dental Assistant as part of a supportive and friendly team dedicated to delivering quality health services for our tamariki.
Requirements
We are seeking an enthusiastic team player who is eager to expand their knowledge and skills with a proactive approach to learning. Excellent communication skills, natural empathy for children, and strong interpersonal abilities are essential for this role.
Flexibility is important as you may need to cover occasional rostered afternoon shifts and work in different clinics throughout the region, which could involve staying away for up to five days at a time.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of postgraduate experience as an Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist
- Registration and current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) with the Dental Council of New Zealand
- A full, clean New Zealand driver's license
