About the Role
We are excited to announce a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist within our Oral Health Service. This role, which is 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), is based in our clinic in Wakatipu, with the expectation of working across our other Central Otago sites as needed.
In this position, you will play a vital role in maintaining the oral health of children in our region. You will educate children and their families about oral health and the prevention of dental disease. Your responsibilities will include recognizing, diagnosing, and treating oral abnormalities and diseases within your scope of practice. You will work alongside a Dental Assistant in a supportive and friendly environment, dedicated to delivering quality health services to our tamariki.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who is eager to expand their knowledge and skills while adopting a proactive approach to learning. Strong communication skills, a natural empathy for children, and excellent interpersonal abilities are essential for this role.
Flexibility is key, as you may need to cover occasional rostered afternoon shifts and work in other clinics throughout the region, which could require overnight stays.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Registration or the ability to gain registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand as an Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) or the ability to apply for one
- A full, clean New Zealand driver's license
Salary Range
This position falls within the Te Whatu Ora and PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific, and Technical Collective Agreement (2023-2025), with a salary band ranging from Step 1 ($77,087) to Step 7 ($107,600) per annum, pro-rata.
