BAKER We are seeking an experienced Baker to join our team at New World Kumeu. Our bakery is located in Kumeu, Auckland, and this is a permanent, full-time position. About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for creating a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and other items. The successful candidate will have at least two years of experience in a bakery setting, ideally with formal qualifications. You will be expected to adhere to New Zealand Food Safety and Health and Safety standards while ensuring our products meet the highest quality. Your duties will include: - Preparing bread dough for a selection of rolls and artisan goods from scratch - Baking daily quantities of bread, rolls, and other bread products - Producing additional bakery items as required, such as pastries, scones, muffins, pies, pizzas, and cookies - Merchandising products within the department, ensuring effective stock rotation by monitoring best-before dates - Receiving inwards goods and maintaining an organized workspace - Enhancing the department's image through proper display and presentation of stock - Addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints, seeking management approval when necessary - Maintaining a daily production schedule and minimizing baking wastage - Assisting customers at the case as needed - Following Health and Safety and Food Safety policies, including completing regular cleaning and temperature checks - Completing traceability forms as required Requirements - A minimum of two years of experience in a bakery environment, with experience making baked goods from scratch - Formal bakery qualifications are an advantage - High level of English proficiency - Experience in a commercial bakery setting in New Zealand - Knowledge of New Zealand Food Safety and Health and Safety standards Benefits The pay for this position ranges from $28 to $30 per hour, depending on experience.
