About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Caregiver to join our team at BestStart Bremner Rd. In this role, you will be an integral part of our teaching team, contributing significantly to the life of our centre.
This position goes beyond typical support duties. We are looking for someone who is ready to take on the full responsibilities of a permanent team member. This includes engaging in planning and assessment, writing learning stories, contributing to our centre priorities, and attending team meetings. You will work closely with our Centre Manager and kaiako to support tamariki in thriving within a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
The position is fixed-term, covering 20 hours per week from September 15, 2025, to March 13, 2026, and you will be required to work Monday through Thursday.
As a caregiver at BestStart, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing warm and responsive care and education to our tamariki.
- Planning, assessing, and documenting learning stories that reflect each child's unique journey.
- Contributing to centre priorities and supporting team goals.
- Engaging in meetings and professional discussions.
- Being a positive and active contributor to our close-knit teaching team.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working in an ECE centre, which is essential.
- Confidence in planning, assessment, and writing learning stories.
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and child development.
- A team-focused attitude, along with flexibility, resilience, and initiative.
- While an ECE qualification is not required, experience with children under five is a must.
