About the Role
We are excited to present an opportunity for you to become an owner driver with Mainfreight Metro in Christchurch. This role offers you the chance to own your own business while being supported by our established and reputable company. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Safely loading, securing, and unloading freight
- Managing the pick-up and delivery of freight on time and ensuring it is damage-free
- Maintaining your truck in immaculate condition
Job Requirements
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- A current Class 2 Driver’s License
- A Transport Service License (TSL)
- A Forklift License (OSH)
- A Dangerous Goods License
- A positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly
- Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills
- Adequate financing to purchase a suitable vehicle, with an option to acquire a truck currently for sale from a previous owner driver
