    About the Company We are excited to announce the opening of a brand-new Mitre 10 MEGA store in Prestons, Christchurch. As a trusted Kiwi brand, we are committed to serving our community and providing exceptional service. We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team and help us create an outstanding shopping experience for our customers. About the Role We are looking for an experienced People & Capability Manager to lead our people strategy and build a high-performing, customer-focused team of approximately 80 members. This key leadership role will be part of our senior management team and will have direct responsibility for the Customer Service and Checkout departments. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new team members. You will design and implement a comprehensive training and development program to support team success from day one. Additionally, you will provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to direct reports in Customer Service and Checkout, drive a positive and inclusive culture across the store, and manage core HR functions, including performance management, employee relations, and compliance. You will also partner with the Store Manager and senior team to deliver on strategic people initiatives. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience in a senior HR, People & Capability, or similar leadership role. A strong background in recruitment, training, and team development is essential, along with a comprehensive understanding of New Zealand employment law. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must, as well as a collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence and inspire others. Experience in retail or a fast-paced customer service environment would be beneficial.
