About the Role
We are currently seeking a Clinical Team Leader, internally referred to as Team Coach, to oversee a six-bed Residential Recovery Service for older adults facing mental health challenges. In this role, you will utilize established systems and clinical frameworks to ensure quality of care, compliance, and positive outcomes for our clients.
As the Team Coach, you will lead and develop a skilled team, empowering them to operate at the top of their scope as community support workers. Collaboration with health and community providers will be essential to deliver seamless, connected support for older adults and their whānau.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with participation in a shared after-hours on-call roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support staff through regular coaching, recruitment, professional development, and performance management.
- Build meaningful partnerships within the service and across primary, secondary, and community care.
- Act as a role model for Tangata Tiriti partnerships, promoting equity and cultural responsiveness.
- Foster a positive team culture where team members feel valued, supported, and engaged.
- Promote connection, inclusion, and independence for older adults living with mental health challenges and their whānau.
- Report to the Service and Relationship Manager, receiving coaching and support to achieve outstanding outcomes.
Requirements
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a demonstrated ability to lead and a passion for mental health. You should possess a balance of clinical expertise and the ability to connect with others, enjoying the process of supporting your team to deliver high-quality care.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Current registration and Annual Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse with the New Zealand Nursing Council.
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary clinical teams, preferably in an NGO or community-based setting.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, supervise, and mentor both clinicians and support staff.
- Clinical experience in mental health and addiction.
- A current full New Zealand driver's license.
- A current New Zealand first aid certificate or a willingness to obtain one.
- A demonstrated ability and cultural competence in working with Māori, along with an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
