Our host company is a well-established and respected Master Plumber business known for its supportive company culture and commitment to employee well-being. They operate within the Bay of Plenty region, servicing areas including Katikati, Tauranga, Te Puke, and Rotorua, and are involved in both residential and commercial projects.
About the Role
As an apprentice, you will have the chance to learn on the job from day one while earning a competitive wage. This role provides practical experience as you work towards your qualification in plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing residential maintenance and installations
- Engaging in commercial work
- Installing and repairing pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a motivated and practical individual with a strong work ethic and effective communication skills. You should enjoy being part of a team and have a passion for hands-on work. Previous experience in another trade or practical job is a plus, but what matters most is your reliability, eagerness to learn, and commitment to the apprenticeship program.
Requirements
To be considered for this apprenticeship, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- A commitment to the full Plumbing, Gasfitting, and Drainlaying apprenticeship, mentored by Masterlink (5 years of full-time work and study)
- A proven history of reliable work ethic, supported by relevant references
- Practical or hands-on experience (desirable)
- Willingness to work occasional Saturdays
- At least a restricted driver’s license with plans to obtain a full license shortly and the ability to drive manual vehicles
- Access to your own vehicle to travel to job sites within the Rotorua area
- A minimum of NCEA Level 2 qualification
- Ability to pass a drug test and pre-employment medical examination
- New Zealand citizenship or residency
