About the Role We are currently seeking a passionate Jet Boat Driver (Kaiuruki Waka) to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to pilot high-performance jet boats through breathtaking alpine scenery while engaging with our guests and sharing the captivating stories of our whenua and Ngai Tahu culture. Safety and teamwork are fundamental to our operations, and as a Jet Boat Driver, you will be responsible for delivering exhilarating yet safe experiences amidst the stunning natural beauty of the Dart River valley. Whether you are an experienced jet boater or someone looking to embark on a new adventure, we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success in this thrilling industry. What You'll Do - Operate high-performance jet boats through breathtaking alpine scenery - Engage with customers, sharing the rich stories of our whenua and Ngai Tahu culture - Conduct daily boat checks and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and presentation - Work flexible shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays - Collaborate with a fantastic team in a high-energy outdoor environment The Qualities We're Looking For - A full driver's license (Class 2 & P Endorsement would be advantageous) - Physically and mentally resilient, with the ability to adapt to changing situations - A safety-first mindset and strong situational awareness - A passion for adventure tourism and delivering world-class experiences - The ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure - A willingness to embrace Ngai Tahu values, tikanga, and te reo Maori - While jet boat driving experience is a plus, full training will be provided - A strong team player who enjoys collaborating with others - A passion for engaging with people, building connections, and sharing knowledge About Us At Dart River Adventures, we pride ourselves on being a values-led organization that invests in the professional and cultural development of our kaimahi (employees).
