About the Role We are currently seeking two skilled plasterers to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to contribute their expertise in a dynamic work environment. The successful candidates will be responsible for various plastering tasks, including determining plasterboard layouts, installing insulation and vapor barriers, and applying finishing coats. Additionally, they will need to demonstrate a commitment to quality workmanship and safety. Key Responsibilities - Determine plasterboard layouts and install insulation and vapor barriers - Measure, mark, and cut plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings, and battens - Prepare corner beads and secure them in place - Fix pre-cast cornices, panel moldings, ceiling centers, and other plaster fittings - Cover joints and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, smoothing them with wet brushes and sandpaper - Mix and apply coats of plaster, cement, and render to structures using trowels, ensuring uniform thickness - Plumbing and straightening corners, angles, and wall and ceiling surfaces - Create decorative textures in finishing coats - Apply and finish acoustic, insulating, and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement, and similar materials Requirements The ideal candidates should possess: - A minimum of two years of work experience in plastering - A positive work attitude and strong communication skills - A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship - A strong dedication to health and workplace safety - The ability to work independently and efficiently Additional Details - Location: Christchurch - Type: Permanent full-time - Number of Positions: 2 - Pay Rate: $30 - $31 per hour - Work Schedule: 5-6 days per week - Weekly Hours: Minimum of 30 hours, maximum of 55 hours Benefits We offer a supportive work environment where dedication and hard work are recognized and rewarded.
