About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Health & Safety Advisor who can lead by example and promote a strong safety culture on-site. In this role, you will report to the senior Health & Safety team and collaborate closely with site managers. Your responsibilities will include working both on-site and in the office, ensuring the implementation of safe work practices across various projects.
As a key resource, you will provide practical advice, manage risks, conduct incident investigations, and oversee audits. Your goal will be to ensure that everyone returns home safely at the end of each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively promote safe work practices, coaching site teams and fostering genuine commitment to health and safety.
- Monitor sites to identify and manage risks, leading incident investigations as necessary.
- Oversee injury management, ACC claims, and return-to-work processes.
- Deliver training, mentoring, and support to enhance the company's health and safety culture.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting, including audits and compliance checks.
- Liaise confidently with WorkSafe and external stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
- A solid understanding of New Zealand Health & Safety legislation.
- Strong skills in systems, documentation, and reporting.
- A confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage others.
- Experience with WorkSafe NZ and ISO 45001 is an advantage.
- Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (or progress towards them).
- Well-organized, self-motivated, and comfortable with technology.
- A positive, approachable demeanor with the ability to build strong relationships.
