About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to join our growing team in Penrose. In this pivotal role, you will help cultivate a strong safety culture within our organization, ensuring that our employees go home safe every day. Reporting to the Group Health & Safety Manager, you will be the primary contact for health and safety matters across our worksites throughout New Zealand.
This position involves regular travel to various locations, where you will assist teams in implementing and maintaining our Health & Safety systems. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and providing practical safety guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance and improvement of health and safety policies, procedures, and systems.
- Conduct regular site audits and contribute to hazard identification and management.
- Oversee incident reporting and investigations, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken.
- Assist with the delivery of health and safety inductions, training, and internal communications.
- Maintain hazard and incident registers and support compliance reporting.
- Collaborate with Health & Safety representatives and operational teams across multiple sites.
- Contribute to ACC claims and rehabilitation coordination.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of four years of experience in a Health & Safety role within an industrial or operational setting, preferably across multiple locations. You must possess a strong working knowledge of New Zealand Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
We are looking for someone with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential. A collaborative and approachable demeanor, along with a genuine commitment to safety, is crucial for this role.
