About the Company
Tasman Organic Dairy Farm is a leading certified organic farm located just 15 minutes from Levin. We are dedicated to sustainable farming practices and pride ourselves on our high-quality dairy production. Our farm spans 155 effective hectares and peaks at milking 330 cows through a 30-aside herringbone shed. About the Role
We are currently seeking a capable and motivated Farm Manager to oversee our daily operations. In this hands-on leadership position, you will play a crucial role in managing a high-performing farm. You will work closely with our Business Manager, who will assist you in enhancing your skills in financial planning, pasture management, and reporting.
As Farm Manager, you will lead by example, ensuring that our farm operates efficiently and safely while adhering to high standards. Your responsibilities will include managing personnel, overseeing animal health, ensuring compliance, and promoting sustainability. Familiarity with decision-making tools such as FarmIQ and Farmax is advantageous, but not mandatory.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dairy farming, particularly within organic practices, and a genuine passion for leading a successful team. We are looking for someone who embodies a strong work ethic and a collaborative spirit, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Key qualifications include:
- Proven experience and a desire for growth in organic dairy farming
- Strong leadership skills with a successful track record in mentoring and developing teams
- In-depth knowledge of animal health, milk quality, and effluent management
- A commitment to health and safety, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
