About the Role
As a Field Service Technician, you will play a pivotal role within our technical service division. You will report to the Senior Technician in Wellington while collaborating with technicians in both Wellington and Auckland. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional technical support and service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installation and Commissioning: Setting up and launching new X-Ray systems and detection equipment.
- Customer Interaction: Assisting the sales team with technical demonstrations and nurturing customer relationships.
- Job Preparation: Understanding the requirements for each job and ensuring you have everything needed before departure.
- Organizational Skills: Maintaining meticulous records and producing timely and detailed service reports.
- Training: Conducting training sessions for customers and Service Team colleagues as needed.
- Maintenance: Scheduling and executing planned preventative maintenance programs.
- Repairs: Promptly addressing on-call service and repair tasks, diagnosing errors or technical issues, and determining appropriate solutions.
- Customer Support: Building positive relationships with customers and understanding their needs to provide suitable recommendations.
- Teamwork: Collaborating with others in the technical team and sharing information across the organization.
- Continuous Development: Conducting market research to stay informed about Tactical's offerings in the marketplace.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
- Registration with the NZ EWRB.
- Level 3 NZ Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrical Appliance and Electronic Servicing) or Electrotechnology.
- A clean NZ driver's license.
- A clean Police employment vetting check.
- NZ citizenship or residency.
Skills and Qualities:
- Willingness to travel frequently and at short notice.
- Strong focus on Health & Safety requirements.
- Service-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize customer needs.
- Good spatial awareness and a comprehensive understanding of job requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good PC skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ingenuity and common sense.
Experience:
- Practical experience in electrical/electronic trades, IT service, X-Ray and detection equipment, or technical field service work.
- Experience with IT/software and hardware application problem-solving is a plus.
- Comfort working under camera surveillance and under varying time and physical space pressures, occasionally with clients in close proximity.
- Specific training will be provided to familiarize you with Tactical Solutions' service equipment.
