Our modern facility located in Wigram is equipped with over 150 injection moulding and extrusion machines, allowing us to handle in-house tool and machine production efficiently.
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our established Toolmaking team. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication and commissioning of machine components and tools used in the manufacture of rubber products.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the ongoing maintenance of production tools to keep them in optimal working condition.
- Machining and commissioning both new and modified injection moulding tools and machine parts.
- Monitoring critical fabrication tasks to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Contributing your fabrication expertise during product development design reviews.
- Overseeing equipment and processes to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and attributes:
- A technically minded individual with the ability to think creatively and solve problems.
- A qualification in toolmaking, fitting, and turning, or at least five years of proven experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with conventional lathe and milling machinery; CNC experience is a plus.
- Experience with MIG and TIG welding is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using software applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
