About the Role We are currently seeking a quality English language educator to deliver a pilot program tailored for our processing staff. This is a part-time position requiring approximately 8 hours of work across two consecutive days each week for a duration of 12 weeks. The training sessions will be held at our Pareora site. Depending on the outcomes of the pilot program, there may be an opportunity to extend the program with additional hours each week. This role may be particularly appealing to retired English teachers or part-time educators looking to enhance their weekly work schedule. The program is already developed; we are looking for someone who has the drive, patience, and passion to deliver the content effectively. Your goal will be to engage participants and help build their confidence so they feel comfortable participating in discussions. Key Responsibilities - Deliver engaging and effective English language lessons to participants of varying proficiency levels. - Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to motivate and engage learners. - Evaluate participant progress and provide constructive feedback. - Administer assessments to measure student baselines, progress, and achievements. - Collaborate flexibly with the site management team. - Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, performance, and achievements. Requirements - Experience teaching English as a second language, including working with entry-level learners. - Proficient in both conversational teaching and formal learning techniques. - Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, along with a positive and empathetic approach. - Attention to detail and the ability to plan effectively while remaining flexible. - An awareness of or willingness to learn about the customs and behaviors of different nationalities.
