Whangarei Hospital is the largest in Northland, providing secondary care services supported by four regional hospitals. Our diverse patient population and the nature of our admissions allow our Registrars to gain invaluable experience managing a wide range of medical conditions, including rare diseases such as rheumatic fever, tuberculosis, and meningococcal disease.
About the Role
As a General Medicine Registrar, you will be part of a dynamic team of Medical Registrars and Consultants specializing in various fields, including cardiology, diabetes, respiratory medicine, nephrology, and oncology. This role is accredited for 24 months of basic training and 12 months of advanced physician training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
We offer an active clinical training program that includes didactic sessions, interactive teaching, a journal club, and videoconferencing of RACP lectures. You will receive close supervision in both acute and outpatient settings, underscoring our commitment to education.
You will rotate through several specialties, and we encourage you to indicate your preferences in your application. The available specialties include:
