About the Role We are currently seeking a Butcher to join our team and assist in the daily operations of our busy supermarket butchery. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cutting meat, as well as assisting with traying and wrapping as needed. Maintaining an appealing presentation of the store is a key part of your responsibilities. In addition to meat preparation, this position will involve some cleaning duties and administrative support for the butchery manager. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes: - Previous demonstrable experience in butchery, preferably within a supermarket environment. - A positive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation, with the ability to work independently. - A high standard of presentation and a passion for the butchery industry. - Strong teamwork skills and the ability to meet and exceed customer expectations. - Commitment to adhering to the store's principles and values. - Physical fitness, strength, and a willingness to engage in hard work. - Excellent ability to follow both written and oral instructions. - A strong value for punctuality. Hours This position requires working five days a week, with Sundays and Mondays designated as days off. The exact work schedule will be discussed during the interview process. Given that our butchery is a small department, flexibility is important, as there may be occasions requiring you to cover additional or alternative shifts to accommodate leave, sickness, or busy periods.
