About the Role We are looking for a Dietitian with a strong background in nutrition, food service management, and health IT systems to join our dynamic and collaborative team at Waikato Hospital. In this role, you will leverage your professional knowledge and skills to maintain and enhance our Nutrition and Food Service Software System, My Kai. Your contributions will ensure efficiency and patient safety, ultimately supporting clinical care and treatment. Key Responsibilities - Manage daily operations and optimize the My Kai software system. - Lead therapeutic diet management, including allergies and texture modification, ensuring safety and compliance. - Support menu planning and recipe development, balancing nutrition, cost, quality, and patient feedback. - Provide expert nutritional and allergen analysis of food items and recipes. - Deliver training and support for system users across the hospital. - Lead and support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the department. - Provide reporting and data analytics to inform clinical and operational decision-making. - Maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and training materials. About the Team/Service Our Nutrition and Food Services team is dedicated to delivering a safe, high-quality, and efficient food and nutrition service that meets individual nutritional requirements while supporting overall health and well-being. Each meal time, we prepare and serve over 850 patient meals, in addition to providing Meals on Wheels for community clients and operating five on-site retail outlets. Our collaborative team of managers and dietitians works together to ensure our patients receive an exceptional food service, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. About You To thrive in this role, you will: - Be a New Zealand Registered Dietitian with a current practicing certificate. - Have at least five years of experience, preferably in a food service setting. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and apply its principles in practice. - Possess experience with nutrition-related IT systems and data analytics. - Be capable of managing complex priorities in a dynamic health service environment.
