About the Role
We are currently looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Endoscopy to join our team at Southland Hospital in a permanent, full-time role. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide specialist nursing care and expertise in direct patient care, while also supporting fellow staff members in the management of the Endoscopy Department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining infection control standards in line with the Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia (GENCA) guidelines
- Completing Global Rating Scale audits
- Providing leadership and support for planning, service safety, service delivery, and change processes across the health system
- Ensuring that quality systems are established within and across Endoscopic nursing services, enhancing care delivery based on nursing-sensitive quality indicators
- Collaborating with Nurse Educators to identify the ongoing learning needs of the Endoscopy team
- Promoting district-wide standardization of care delivery, quality, and innovation
- Identifying and addressing barriers to the effectiveness and efficiency of endoscopy services

About You
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of experience as an Endoscopy Nurse
- The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to assess, treat, and manage patient care needs
- A postgraduate certificate, with a commitment to working towards a master's degree
- Previous experience in maintaining GENCA guidelines certifications
- Leadership qualities and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Completion of Olympus training
