About the Role We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Nurse Educator to join our Mental Health and Addictions Clinical Service (MHACS) team. This part-time role (0.3 FTE) is based in Invercargill and will involve working in both urban and rural Emergency Departments across the Southern region. In this position, you will serve as an educator, consultant, researcher, and leader/change agent, dedicated to improving health outcomes for individuals experiencing mental distress. Your responsibilities will include: - Building the capability and confidence of staff in the Emergency Department (ED) and other crisis locations. - Supporting the professional development of clinical, non-clinical, and administrative staff who interact with individuals and their whānau or support people presenting with mental health needs or in distress. - Enhancing the readiness of the front-line workforce to respond effectively and professionally to mental health crisis events. - Acting as a well-being resource for ED teams to support front-line staff. - Utilizing strong interpersonal skills to model professionalism in the context of individuals experiencing mental distress. About You Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes: - A minimum of five years of clinical experience in mental health and addictions. - Registration as a Nurse with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC). - Proficiency as a PDRP Expert. - A postgraduate diploma in specialty nursing practice. - A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships across services.
