    Description

About the Company At One New Zealand, we are dedicated to fostering a better-connected Aotearoa, New Zealand. Our mission focuses on investing in simpler and better products and services to enhance the lives of New Zealanders. We take pride in championing diversity of thought, perspective, and background, while offering a welcoming environment that supports a healthy balance between personal and professional commitments. We believe that people are at the heart of everything we do. As the saying goes, "If you asked me, what is the greatest thing in this world, I would say it is people, it is people, it is people." About the Role We are seeking a dynamic and commercially savvy B2B Event Manager who thrives in fast-paced environments and excels at building relationships. This role is designed for someone who can champion sales, foster trust, and create remarkable experiences that drive business outcomes. You will lead the development and execution of a national events program featuring One NZ-led events covering a wide range of topics, including workforce mobility solutions, cybersecurity innovations, and the Internet of Things. Additionally, you will manage strategic event sponsorships, CXO roundtables, regional SME activations, public sector briefings, and high-profile hospitality events. This position involves more than just logistics; it requires strategic thinking, storytelling, and effective stakeholder engagement. You will be instrumental in organizing events that strengthen client relationships, generate qualified leads, and support our Enterprise and Business sales and revenue targets. By collaborating closely with partners and internal teams, you will deliver high-value experiences that leave a lasting impact. If you are a natural networker with a talent for influence and a passion for creating connections, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact at scale. Bring your creativity, energy, and business insights to help us transform every event into a catalyst for growth. What You Will Do - Develop and manage our B2B events program at One NZ, overseeing a national schedule that includes enterprise, government, SME, and partner channels. - Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of over 80 events annually, ensuring each event aligns with our brand and objectives. - Collaborate directly with our Sales leaders and teams to create events that facilitate conversations, drive pipeline, and enhance conversion rates. - Oversee the entire event lifecycle, from conception and scheduling to invitations, venue selection, vendor management, VIP coordination, and operational logistics. - Work collaboratively across marketing, PR, product, and partner teams to ensure events align with broader campaigns and strategic priorities. - Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity, confidence, and a proactive approach. - Demonstrate the impact of your efforts by reporting on outcomes, return on investment, leads generated, and customer feedback. What You Will Bring - A natural ability to connect with others and a strong understanding of what drives B2B relationships, translating this knowledge into impactful experiences. - A minimum of 5 years of experience managing high-quality, high-volume B2B events, preferably in technology, telecommunications, or similar fast-paced industries. - Strong prioritization, multitasking skills, and the ability to remain composed under pressure. - Experience engaging with senior executives, strategic partners, and high-value customers in various settings. - Comfort with ambiguity, quick thinking, and a focus on achieving measurable outcomes. - A sense of humor, attention to detail, and a genuine appreciation for creating exceptional experiences. What You Will Get At One New Zealand, we are committed to ensuring you achieve a balanced lifestyle. Most roles offer flexibility to work from home and adjust hours to suit your personal and family commitments. We provide fully subsidized Southern Cross health insurance for you and your family, a laptop, an unlimited data plan, and a top-tier mobile phone for business and personal use. Additionally, you can enjoy lifestyle leave, allowing you to purchase extra annual leave, as well as discounts on One New Zealand products and services. Joining One New Zealand means becoming part of a team that is focused on uplifting and supporting one another. We embrace the freedom to shape a progressive and inclusive future for Aotearoa. You will find opportunities for personal growth, exposure to innovative technology, and unique workplace experiences that will help you expand your career. We invite you to join us in our mission to create a better-connected Aotearoa.
