About the Role
We are seeking experienced Carpenters to work alongside our talented tradesmen. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the successful completion of our projects. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Installing forms, foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs
- Fitting and installing window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, drywall, and both interior and exterior trim
- Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements using hand tools, power tools, and other machinery
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine project layout, dimensions, and materials required
- Building or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools
- Assembling and fastening materials to create frameworks or props, using appropriate tools and materials
- Removing damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repairing or replacing them as necessary
- Communicating progress, delays, or problems to the Leading Hand or Supervisor
We value pride in workmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to complete tasks to a high standard within designated timeframes. You will be expected to communicate effectively with your supervisor, take responsibility for your duties, and collaborate well as part of a team.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have a minimum of three years of experience as a Carpenter, performing typical new construction, repair, or maintenance duties. Alternatively, you may hold a trade qualification or higher. References will be required to verify your experience.
Pay & Conditions
- Hourly rate: $27 - $35 (waged)
- Hours of work: Minimum of 30 hours per week, with potential for up to 55 hours depending on project needs
- Work days: Monday to Saturday
- Locations: Opportunities available across Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Wellington, Manawatu/Horowhenua, Canterbury, Otago, Southland, Tasman, and Marlborough
