About the Role
We are excited to offer a permanent full-time opportunity for a Team Leader to oversee the coordination and delivery of carpentry and maintenance activities for various commercial contracts and projects in the Nelson region.
In this dynamic leadership role, you will guide a skilled team of carpenters and a versatile maintenance handy person, utilizing your technical expertise and operational acumen. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, ensuring that all carpentry and maintenance work not only meets but exceeds client expectations.
This position is hands-on and varied, combining people leadership, project oversight, and practical craftsmanship. You will collaborate closely with the Contract Manager for Landscape Construction and Maintenance to deliver high-quality services across multiple contracts, landscape projects, and building initiatives.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A trade qualification in carpentry or a related field, with a building practitioner licence preferred
- Proven experience in leading teams and managing client relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A genuine desire to train and mentor others
- Prior experience in administrative functions such as invoicing, claims, and procurement
- A strong commitment to modeling and demonstrating high work standards
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- A flexible attitude and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- Recognition of the importance of sound Health and Safety practices
- A Full Class 1 Licence and the ability to drive a manual vehicle
