About the Role
As a Steel Fixer, you will play a crucial role in our concrete construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the proper installation of steel reinforcements for concrete structures. This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $29.66 to $40.00, with a minimum guarantee of 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
To succeed in this role, it is essential that you maintain a high level of physical fitness, as the work is labor-intensive and takes place within a civil construction environment. A valid driving license is also required.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining, managing, and servicing equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
- Conducting pre-start inspections and promptly reporting any defects to your supervisor.
- Carrying out onsite works as directed by your Senior Site Supervisor or Supervisor.
- Only operating plant and equipment for which you have received training and approval.
- Measuring and cutting steel bars according to construction drawings and plans.
- Bending, laying, and fixing steel bars and mesh, as well as placing concrete around steel reinforcements.
Health and Safety

You will represent our company professionally at all times, maintaining our reputation in the industry.
Environmental Stewardship
It is important to report any actions that may impact the environment to your supervisor and take immediate and safe actions to address them. We encourage minimizing waste and energy usage on the job site.
Quality Assurance
Your work must align with our quality policy. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate site records, including health and safety paperwork, drill logs, installation records, daily briefings, and incident reports.
Timesheets
You will be required to maintain and submit accurate and detailed timesheets in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Steel Fixer or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and plans
- Ability to maintain physical fitness for labor-intensive work
- Valid driving license
